ESPN Joins the Party

Glossy Mag Lays Down the Law with Top 100 for 2009

The very handsome Matt Wieters is ESPN's #1 ranked prospect this year, with Rays wonder David Price right behind. Price and Wieters have been flip-flopping the top of our charts for months, too.

The ESPN/Scouts Inc Top 100 Prospects List for 2009 was released today, so as usual we've added their rankings to all our player profiles so you can get a second (third, fourth, fifth) opinion on what we think. Keith Law, under the Scouts Inc banner, is anointing Matt Wieters and David Price 1-2 for 2009, which is exactly where they've been on our charts for the past five or six months. But after that, he's got some surprises and head-scratchers.

You can view Law's opinions on the cream of 2009 here, though you'll need a secret ESPN handshake to get in to all the details.

Law's ratings impact our composite formula a bit, so you'll see a few players bump up and down a spot or two over the next couple of days, too.

We'll continue to add every major ranking list's numbers as they're published, since we think the best value comes from reading them all, and trusting no one.
