It seems as if he's been on the horizon forever, but he's still only 22 years old and healthy, which means he's a good bet to overcome his disappointing 2008 and return to top prospect status in Anaheim. The Angels projected him to bloom into an ace for 2008, but it looks like they might have been a bit too optimistic. Early 2009 looks more likely, though the better bet would be that he could blossom as a midseason flower. While he might not have the best stuff in the minors, he does have exceptional makeup and seems ready to play: no right-hander (other than the Twins' Garza) has shown such composure when being tossed into the fire at a young age. He's been ignored too much thanks to his injurious past, but he's a premium prospect just bursting with potential.

24 hours after winning his first major league game, Nick Adenhart is back in the minors. With John Lackey coming back to the team, there was simply no place left to keep Adenhart. He'll be back later.

Dustin Moseley has beaten out Nick Adenhart for the Angels fifth starter job. He'll begin the year in AAA Salt Lake as the first man on the phone, but he'll fall to seventh or eighth starter status if the Angels ever get their injured veterans back.
