The Book on Johnny Cueto
Prospect Info
Johnny Cueto
Born 2/15/1986
RHP, CIN
A stunning ERA and WHIP in the minors booked Johnny on his way to the Show in Cincy. With a solid four-pitch selection (fastball, slider, sinker and change) he's got some of the best young stuff in baseball, but if his offspeed stuff develops just a bit more, that 97mph fastball should be all he needs to rack up the K's.
Player Updates and Notes
Johnny Cueto ends the first half 7-9 with a 4.92 ERA. After starting the season as one of the NL's best, he's slid back to the middle of the pack, but for a 22 year old in Major League Ball, he's been exceptionally good for the Reds.

Human after all, Cueto couldn't get through the first today, when he was rocked hard by the Rays, who scored five times in the inning. By the time the fans had settled into their seats in Sarasota, Cueto was already in the showers.
