The Book on Gorkys Hernandez

Prospect Info

PITGorkys Hernandez
Born 9/7/1987
OF, PIT

After a brief stint in the Atlanta system, onetime Tiger prospect Gorkys Hernandez was shipped to the Pirates for Nate McLouth in 2009 before ever getting a real shot with the Braves. Still, he's is a quality prospect who hit .264/.348/.387 with 20 steals for Double-A Myrtle Beach in 2008. He's fast and talented, with exceptional defensive range, but his meaningful arrival still looks to be another year or two away.
