The Book on Dan Hudson

Prospect Info

ARZDan Hudson
Born 3/9/1987
RHP, ARZ

One of the fastest-moving prospects in the minors, White Sox righthander Dan Hudson went from rookie ball all the way to AAA Charlotte in 2009, and had just been promoted back to MLB in July 2010 when he was traded to the Diamondbacks for Edwin Jackson.

Hudson is not an overpowering pitcher: his fastball dances around 92mph most nights, but he mixes in his slider and change with sufficient control (see his 256:56 strikeout to walk ratio in the minors) to keep even patient hitters frustrated. He doesn't have much left to learn in the minors, so his continued development now looks like a matter of racking up Major League experience.
